Usually it’s just me and the 65+ crowd picking this up at the drug store, which I’m totally used to being associated with (Matt often refers to me as his ‘little 80 year old’). But you guys should seriously try this stuff. It will make your legs look amazing.
I’m not much of a tanner, despite my efforts to roast like a chestnut in the sun I usually burn faster than a marshmallow. This one time I went bed tanning and I had hives for weeks, that was the end of that for me. I rely on faux methods for my glow now.
With fair skin my legs tend to get pretty blotchy looking. In the winter not a big deal but with short season around the corner it’s nice to be able to put your best leg forward.
The key is blend this well – spray it directly on your legs and then rub it in with your hands well, make sure you cover your feet, ankles and knee caps well. It takes about five minutes to fully dry so I usually put it on first and then when I’m done getting the rest of myself ready it’s good to go!
It’s hard to put into words how much I appreciate you for watching this blog grow with me. I am truly humbled at your interest and I thank you for spending time with me each day. It’s time for a blog lift and I’m so excited to launch the new and improved format very soon. As always I want to hear your comments and feedback. I hope you all have a great weekend!
This weekend I’m so excited to be attending The Memory Ball, a charity ball benefiting Alzheimer’s disease. The ball is being organized by one of my best clients, she’s done such an amazing job with it and I’m sure it will be a great night!
I can’t decide which dress I should wear…
Option One: BCBG Bandage Dress
Option Two: French Connection Grecian Dress
I usually don’t get emotional while watching movies but I’ve never cried harder than at the end of the Note Book when the older Ali didn’t recognize her own family, truly a heartbreaking thought. I think Alzheimer’s is often a forgotten disease and I’m happy to be supporting it this Saturday night.
There are still a few more tickets left to be sold! If you’re interested in coming today is the last day to buy tickets! You can do so here. Hope to see you there!
I’ll be wearing the dress with the most votes on Saturday night.
I think this man is absolutely adorable. Don’t you just want to hug him? And then try the cucumber soda?
I love when asked how he describes his job he says, “happy”. That’s exactly how my job makes me feel. It’s inspirational to see people dedicating their lives to following their passion. Mine happens to be training, his is soda, what’s yours?
I believe that now more than ever before we can all do exactly what it is that makes us smile. We have access to minds from all corners of the world, we have twitter and youtube where great ideas catch on and spread like wildfire, everyone can start a website, anyone can follow their passion! I have been working for the last year but I still get excited everyday about work and I feel like my job is the best job on the planet.
Imagine if everyone where this happy going to work – I think the world would be a much better place!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with Christine Russell (left) of 889 Yoga.
Since taking the plunge into the world of entrepreneurship two years ago I’ve had the opportunity to meet with some of Toronto’s best fitness and business minds. My meeting Christine yesterday was so inspirational that I thought I would share some of the highlights with you. She is a beautiful person from the inside out!
The Russell sisters are in their late 20s and they are a true Toronto success story. They started 889 Yoga in 2007 and haven’t slowed down since! With a partnership with The Thompson Hotel and a bustling wellness practice there is no stopping these two ladies!
Christine’s top piece of advice for me – someone new to the fitness world, was that everyone is going to have an opinion and in some way they are going to tell you that your plan will be impossible to achieve. Christine advised me to stay true to what I do best and do that really well. At 889 Yoga they just passed their 5 year anniversary – proving any of their doubters absolutely wrong! After meeting Christine and seeing their successes firsthand it re-confirmed for me that when you follow your passion and you set out to be the best at what you do, and do it well, there’s absolutely no stopping your potential.
The importance of flexibility was also stressed by Christine, and not just in the yoga sense of the word! This is something that absolutely rang true for me. When you have your own business you need to constantly be adapting and open to change. Eight months ago I never would have thought that my business would have been going in this direction, but I’m so happy with it! I’ve learned to really slow down and figure out what’s right long term. I’m the type of person that likes to dream big, and dream up more from there! Seems like that philosophy worked for the Russell sisters, so I’m going to keep on dreaming big!
Lastly it’s just really nice to see really nice people doing really well!
Many of my serious yogi friends tout 889 Yoga as the absolute best in the city, top instructors in a beautiful facility. I will certainly be signing up for some much needed zen asap! Hope to see you beauties and bodies there!
Charlize Theron: 2004 Oscars. Pure perfection. Fresh off a trip to Brazil, Best Actress Charlize Theron (for Monster) shimmered in an elegant Gucci gown that showed off her tawny complexion and her figure, slim again after she gained 30lbs for her winning role.
Hilary Swank: 2004 Oscars. After adding 19lbs of muscle and working out 6 days a week for 4 1/2 hours a day for her role in Million Dollar Baby, Hilary Swank earned this spot on the best bodies list!
Jennifer Hudson: 2011 Oscars. What a transformation! Jennifer Hudson stuck to a strict regimen of portion control diet and exercise, she lost 80 pounds and went from a size 16 to a 6 and says: “I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!”
Oprah Winfrey: 2007 Oscars. Oprah has said she’s never looked better and felt happier. I think this represents a realisitic weight for Oprah, you can tell she’s absolutely glowing.
Cher: 1986 Oscars. Look at those abs! Cher certainly knew how to push the boundaries of Oscar fashion!
Helen Mirren: 2007 Oscars. If I look this good at 61 I’ll be extremely happy! Helen Mirren won an Oscar for her role in The Queen, but her body in that dress earned more accolades that night!
Angelina Jolie: 2004 Oscars. Va va voom. As per usual!
Halle Berry: 2002 Oscars. Again … VA VA VOOM. This lady knows how to do classy and sexy. The night she won an Oscar for Monster’s Ball, the actress highlighted her amazing figure with a peek-a-boo embroidered gown.
Anne Hathaway: 2009 Oscars: She looked like a sparkling statue. Her waist is so tiny!
Jessica Alba: 2006 Oscars. This is my boyfriend Matt’s biggest crush. And that night she did not disappoint him! Truly a golden girl with a golden body.
